machava Center, Maputo...4 Brazilian Missionaries

Our oldest center, established after the loss of our first center in Chiango, currently houses about 100 children, mostly ages 4-17, who are being schooled and discipled under the directorship of Jesse and Raquel Braga of Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil. Jessie and Raquel have two wonderful teenage daughters, Sarah and Miria. The Braga family has served Iris Ministries since 1997. Both Sarah and Miria are fluent in Portuguese and English.

Machava operates a day school for their children and the community for pre-school through grade 6.

Edvaldo and Adriana Marcolino, a missionary couple from Londrina and Sao Paulo, Brazil, serve with the Braga family at Machava. Adriana served another mission organization in Mozambique until she met and married Edvaldo.
